Notes:	**All StarGuard Elite online coursework, including the online lifeguarding examination with a minimum passing score of 80%, must be completed prior to attending the in-person portion of this course.** **StarGuard Elite (SGE) coursework may be accessed through the StarGuard Elite Portal. All students will receive an invitation email from StarGuard Elite requesting email verification. Portal access will be granted once the email address has been successfully verified.**

Course Description

The Purpose of the SGE STAR BLS course is to prepare individuals who work in an aquatic environment or facility to respond to or assist during emergencies. To receive certification, students are required to demonstrate knowledge by completing skill assessments and passing a written exam with a score of 80% or greater.

The focus during training is on competency assessment, methods and approaches that are specific to StarGuard, and facility-specific response methods.

Our courses are designed and taught by industry-leading professionals who are motivated to help prepare you for the many incidents that can arise. 

STAR BLS Certification Prerequisites: 

• 16 years or older to participate 
• 1-day in-person course - all days must be attended
• You must bring an electronic copy of the Starguard 7th Edition Text Book
• Classroom & pool setting - dress accordingly
• A Hip Pack, Whistle, & BigEasy style CPR Mask are required to attend the course. 

If you do not have a circle aquatic CPR Mask on the day of the course, you will be charged $20.00. If you do not have a HIp Pack, or Whistle on the day of the course,  you will be charged $30 for a circle aquatic CPR mask, Hip Pack, and Whistle.

• No swim prerequisite. Must be comfortable in the water.
